"A voyage to China and East Indies" 個作者應係Osbeck, Pehr (1771),而唔係John Collins
"an account of the interior of china" Google

Narrative of a journey in the interior of China : and of a voyage to and from that country, in the years 1816 and 1817 : containing an account of the most interesting transactions of Lord Amherst's embassy to the court of Pekin and observations on the countries which it visited / by Clarke Abel (1819).

https://sites.google.com/site/storiesbystoryteller/recent_articles/article-3

The operation of such a barbarous law (for so it appears to us) will serve to explain the conduct品行 of the Chinese in the following instance. In the course of our journey down the grand canal大運河 we had occasion to witness a scene, which was considered as a remarkable example of a want of fellow-feeling. Of the number of persons who had crowded down to the banks of the canal several had posted themselves upon the high projecting stern船尾 of an old vessel which, unfortunately, breaking down with the weight, the whole groupe tumbled暴跌 with the wreck沉船 into the canal, just at the moment when the yachts帆船 of the embassy were passing. Although numbers of boats were sailing about the place, none were perceived to go to the assistance of those that were struggling in the water. They even seemed not to know that such an accident had happened, nor could the shrieks尖叫聲 of the boys, floating on pieces of the wreck, attract their attention. One fellow was observed very busily employed in picking up, with his boat-hook, the hat of a drowning man. It was in vain we endeavoured to prevail on說服 the people of our vessel to heave to頂風停船 and send the boat to their assistance. It is true, we were then going at the rate of seven miles an hour(等於時速11.27公里,即每秒3.13米), which was the plea抗辯 they made for not stopping. I have no doubt that several of these unfortunate people must inevitably have perished死亡.
