New survey shows young Swedes are quickly turning conservative.
The Youth Barometer Generation Report for 2025 is based on interviews with 17000 people aged 15 to 24.
- The share of people "who want to be perceived as open/tolerant" is down from 43% to 29% in 10 years.
- "Identifying as feminists" has plummeted from 32% to 18% in 4 years.
- "Environmentalists - down from 21% to 13% in 4 years.
- People who say "the goal with a relationship is to find someone to spend the rest of their live with" is up from 76% to 90% in 3 years.
- Men wanting to pay on the first date is up from 43% to 55% in 7 years.
- Men wanting to be the one to propose is up from 52% to 65% in 7 years.
- 74% of young women want the man to be the one to propose. Meanwhile, share of young women who want to be perceived as "feminine" has doubled in 10 years.
At the same time, the youth become very pessimistic about the future of society. Only 25% believe it will be "good"
