Ukraine Approves Delivery of Shchedryk Drones to Armed Forces
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has approved the deployment of the domestically produced Shchedryk unmanned aerial system, designed for precision fire correction and enhanced battlefield adaptability. The system includes a control station and fixed-wing drones equipped with silent electric motors, advanced optical systems, and strong resistance to electronic warfare.
Named after the Ukrainian carol "Shchedryk" (known in the West as "Carol of the Bells"), the drones were developed in Vinnytsia. They are designed to operate in extreme weather conditions, withstanding strong winds, frost, and heat, and can reach speeds of 150 km/h while penetrating up to 40 km behind enemy lines.
The Shchedryk system's advanced optics enable it to function from altitudes beyond the range of most air defense systems. Its silent operation and mobility ensure effective target coordination without exposing operators to enemy detection.
The Shchedryk drone enhances Ukraine’s reconnaissance and targeting capabilities, boosting the precision and safety of artillery strikes. This advancement strengthens the Armed Forces’ ability to neutralize Russian positions efficiently, especially in challenging operational conditions.
