PSG have known for the past three months that talks over a new contract for Bradley Barcola have reached a standstill.

Barcola has no intention of forcing a move, but his frustration is genuine. He refuses to settle for the role of a mere 12th man.

That said, he has no intention of leaving the club just for the sake of it. He has already turned down an approach from Chelsea.

Having been informed of his decision not to sign a new contract, PSG are preparing for the possibility of his departure this summer and have made Yan Diomandé their priority target.

Should that move fail to materialise, the Parisian club’s hierarchy will turn their attention to another winger.

Four clubs - Liverpool, Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Chelsea - have expressed an interest. Chelsea are no longer in the running. Barcola also knows that his future will depend on how the European market for wingers develops. For the first time this summer, PSG have changed their stance and have officially let it be known to the media that a sale for Barcola is now a possibility. It’s a complete U-turn from the club’s firm position, having insisted only recently that he was “not for sale”.

However, Paris are still demanding a significant fee to part ways with their winger. With direct talks between Liverpool and PSG yet to begin, the deal is still a long way from being completed, reports @Djaameel_
