Andrew Wiggins will now be under contract for $30.2M for the 2026-27 season, and his new extension will run through the 2028-29 season at an annual average value of $17M.

He will have a player option for the 2028-29 season.

Basically, it's an opt in with a 1+1 extension.

As a result of Wiggins' salary remaining the same for the upcoming year, the Heat are just about $20M from their hard cap.

To possibly bring back Norman Powell, they will need to trade Nikola Jovic and open additional funds.

Wiggins opting in makes retaining Powell harder.
