Man United set to announce another transfer

Man United will formally announce Cristian Orozco's transfer when his move is completed next week. United are close to finalising deals for Andrey Santos and Karl Darlow, but Orozco's signing will also be announced.

Santos and Darlow are signings for the first team, while Orozco will join up with the Under-21s as he settles in Manchester. Orozco will celebrate his 18th birthday on Monday, when United can formally register him as a player.

He has already arrived in England in order to acclimatise and be ready to start this week. Orozco was welcomed to Manchester in December and shown around Carrington and Old Trafford and the youngster's trip included a taste of training sessions with United's academy teams.

Orozco will arrive in Manchester with a similar profile to Sekou Kone, who joined the academy from Malian club Guidars FC for around £1million in the 2024 summer transfer window.

There might have been a few eyebrows raised when Harry Amass returned to Carrington on Thursday. The young left-back has clearly spent a fair bit of the summer in the gym and he has done plenty of work to make sure he is ready to take what might turn out to be a major opportunity for him.

Amass has bulked up this summer and looks ready to thrive in pre-season. Luke Shaw is United's only senior left-back and although they could sign someone in that position, the academy graduate might be sensing a chance to force his way into Michael Carrick's plans.

Erik ten Hag took a 17-year-old Amass on tour in 2024 and was impressed with his performances, but felt he was too small to become a member of the first-team squad and despite the youngster knocking on the door, he never made a first-team appearance under the Dutchman.
