安祖卡路爾在自傳《Owning It》中聲稱朗尼會邀請隊友到其房間飲啤酒及吸煙。書中寫道：「他會被一盒盒香煙、一箱箱拉格啤酒和一瓶瓶葡萄酒包圍（他叫酒店經理送到房間），很快他的房間就會擠滿球員。沒有人飲醉，這只是 Wazza 打破單調的方式，飲幾盃而已。」

朗尼其後否認相關說法。他向《太陽報》發聲明表示：「我通常不會回應關於我的不實報道，但這次我會回應。」

他續道：「安祖知道，他和我從來沒有真正來往。我曾在一次假期中偶然碰見他一次，僅此而已。至於這個關於我在英格蘭隊服役期間飲酒的『故事』，純屬捏造。」

「我不知道這個故事從何而來。這令人失望。」

消息指，朗尼的律師團隊已去信安祖卡路爾自傳的出版社，要求撤回相關內容。消息人士稱：「朗尼非常憤怒。他不是在說笑。他的法律團隊已向出版社發出措辭強硬的信件。他要求撤回，因為這完全不是事實。」

把卡路爾擊暈後性侵

The incident took place at his home in 2021, hours after he had played a match for Newcastle. The friend of Carroll's ex-wife, Billi Mucklow, invited himself to their house to watch a boxing match, and the footballer began to feel uncomfortable in his presence.

Carroll wrote that he took himself to bed after "a few drinks", wondering: "Has he slipped me something?" He later woke to find the man attempting to perform oral sex on him, and threw his attacker out of the house.

When the man tried to re-enter, Carroll punched him unconscious before calling the police and "sobbing".

The attacker denied sexual assault and stood trial. Carroll testified in court, which he found to be "humiliating and embarrassing and absolutely horrendous".

卡路爾在法庭上作證，並表示這個過程「令人羞辱、尷尬，而且極其可怕」。性侵者被判犯有性犯罪，被判處三年監禁，並被列入國家性犯罪者登記冊，禁止進入卡路爾居住的村莊。
